Vicky Malooley

I really love You should check it out! It's free and fun; all you need is a GPS!

My name is Vicky Malooley and I teach secondary English and Theater at Homestead HS. I moved around a lot when I was growing up, but spent most of my time in Walkerton, IN. When I graduated, I went to Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN and received a degree in English and Theater Education. From there, I did my student teaching at Warsaw HS, then my 1st year of teaching at Marion HS, and finally I've been at Homestead for the past two years. I love it there.

I heard about the Appleseed Writing Project from Howard Jankowski and am so glad I was accepted! I hope to take back what I've learned to reach all of my students, engage them, and show them that writing is the key to success in so many ways. I also want to show them that I consider myself to be a writer as well. I think writing can be a great way to get thoughts, joys, and frustrations down on paper. I especially love writing personal narratives, short stories and poems. I also love reading. Some of my favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, Douglas Adams, Arthur Miller, James Bradley, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Zora Neale Hurston and MANY more that I can't think of right now. Some of my current hobbies, as they change quite frequently, are cooking, traveling, reading, writing, spending time with my husband, playing with my dog, and geocaching.
